History of the School

The Rosary School, Miramar, which consists of the Pre-Primary and Primary and The Rosary High School, Cujira, Bambolim, was founded by Mrs. Thecla Rosario with the support of her husband Mr. Vincent A. Rosario.

Mrs. Rosario planted the little seed for this Institution on 11^th November 1975 in a single room with 5 children.  The little seed was nurtured with great amounts of love, laughter, learning and hard work.  As the tiny roots took hold, wee buds attached themselves to the growing plant and so was born a great institution of learning and holistic development for future citizens of our great country.

The secondary school got its recognition in 1986 and sent up its first batch of students for the S.S.C. (Examinations) in March 1987. It wasn’t long before the need was felt to obtain Government aid for the school. The secondary section became a grant- in- aid school from 1989.

Miss Fatima de Sa was appointed as the first Headmistress on 05^th June 1989.

In October 2009, Mrs. Rosario, in the best interest of the school handed over the management of the school to Mr. Tony Rodrigues and his family who are genuinely concerned about maintaining the standards set and have family members on the faculty.

Mr. Rodrigues in his great zeal to carry the school forward invested large amounts of energy and finance to bring to fruition the dream of having our own school building. The building is dedicated to his late mother Mrs. Espertina Rodrigues.

The Rosary School which is made up of the Pre-Primary and Primary that is classes Nursery to Std. IV, is located at Miramar.

The Secondary and High School, that is Stds V to X, are located in the new school building at the Intergrated School Complex, Cujira, Bambolim.

At present the secondary section has 1024 students. The class size is not more than 45 students. Examination results are an important consideration and we are delighted with the increased levels of success that our students have enjoyed over the last few years. The school attains excellent results at the Goa Board Examination and in 2022-2023 our batch obtained 100% passing.
